Sungha Park, M.D., PhD, is a distinguished Professor in Internal Medicine at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Dr. Park's academic journey began at Yonsei University College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree between March 1989 and February 1995. He furthered his education with a Master of Medical Science from Yonsei University Graduate School (1997-1999) and completed his Ph.D. in Medical Science at the same institution from September 1999 to February 2007. Dr. Park's clinical training included an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine, from March 1995 to February 2000. Following his residency, he fulfilled his military service obligations from March 2000 to April 2003. He then embarked on an academic career, serving as a Lecturer and later as an Instructor in Internal Medicine at Severance Hospital. His dedication and expertise led to his appointment as Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine from March 2006 to February 2010. Between August 2008 and January 2010, Dr. Park expanded his research experience as a visiting fellow at the National Institute of Health/National Institute on Aging. He was promoted to Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at Severance Hospital in March 2010 and has held the position of Professor in Internal Medicine since March 2015. He has previously served as the head of the scientific committee and secretary general of the Korean Society of Hypertension and currently serves as the head of its planning committee. Dr. Park is also the associate editor of the Journal of Clinical Hypertension and Hypertension Research.
